Thank you to everyone who came along to our quiz night on Friday 3rd February at the Thame Barns Centre. We had over 70 people in attendance to test their grey matter against local quiz master Richard Mather. The rounds included people and places (fiendishly hard my team could only manage a poor 2/10), literature, flags and capitals and of course the essential picture round. Our joker round this year meant playing your Trump card (see what we did there…) with some fetching images of the new US President to hold up. Even with the challenging questions we had some worthy winners in team Dumb and Dumber, who despite the name were clearly better read than my team, with a grand total of 81 1/2 points out of 120. Well done everyone.
The raffle included some great prizes with a champagne and truffles gift set, Belgian beer, gardening and bakery sets and an amazing large cuddly bear. Due to everyone’s fantastic support we raised over £600 on the night which is amazing so thank you to all that donated prizes, helped set up/clear down as well as taking part in the quiz.
These quiz nights are a regular calendar event for us so if you like quizzes please contact the office for the next date. We hope to see you next time.
A big thank you to the staff of Equitable Life for their continued support. This year we raised an amazing £144!
